Rețele Electrice Dobrogea installed 100 anti-collision diverters on a 15 km segment of the Grădiștea-Iezer Călărași medium-voltage line, located in an area identified by the Romanian Ornithological Society (SOR) as having high bird collision risks with power lines.
Due to the proximity of Lake Iezer Călărași, many bird species inhabit the area. The diverters provided by SOR are specially designed to be visible both during the day and at night, allowing birds in flight to avoid the power lines
